USA choose to bat against Namibia in T20 World Cup

The United States on Sunday opted to bat first after winning the toss against Namibia in the 26th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, currently being staged across India and Sri Lanka.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, at 5.3 overs, the US had raced to 58 without loss, making a confident start in the powerplay. 

Captain Monank Patel said at the toss that his side was determined to deliver a strong performance and would look to capitalise fully on the early fielding restrictions.

Namibia’s captain Gerhard Erasmus said his team would make every effort to secure victory against the United States in what promises to be a competitive group-stage encounter.

The match forms part of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup, with teams battling for crucial points as the tournament progresses.
