Pakistan People’s Party is likely to sweep local body elections from Hyderabad as it has already won 31 union council seats out of 160 seats unopposed, reported 24NewsHD Tv channel.
According to the reports, the polling in the 129 union councils of the nine towns of Hyderabad is going on with fever.
The position of PPP candidates from Tando Fazal, Tando Jam, Hussainabad, Qasimabad, and Nironkot towns is believed to be very strong.
While in Shah Latifabad, Sachal Sarmast, Pretabad, and Mian Sarfraz Town, PPP is expected to face a tough time from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and TLP. However, the voters’ trend suggested that PPP will win at least 50 to 60 seats more. After adding 31 seats to the expected new seats, the total number of UCs obtained by PPP will be between 80 to 100. Therefore, PPP will be in a position to bring its own city mayor without the help of independent candidates.
