Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz stresses need for imparting skills in youth 

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said on Tuesday that in today’s world, skills were also needed besides educational qualification, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

In her message on the youth skills day, she said that mere obtaining degrees was not enough. “What we also need is skills, which can change the destiny of the nations,” she said, adding, “Skills do not only earn you a job but also guarantees self-confidence and the nation’s development.” 

The chief minister claimed that the Punjab government was taking revolutionary steps to empower the youth. “We have introduced courses in schools in order to hone the skills of students. We have also started offering internships in all government departments, including agriculture and environment.” 

Maryam further said that the youth were being provided skills in the IT sector, which, she said, was need of the hour. “Nawaz Sharif IT City will polish youth’s talent,” she hoped.

She went on to say she was determined to make each and every youth of the province skillful.  “This is my dream that every youth of the province does not seek a job but is able to give jobs to others.”
