Punjab Budget: Laptop Scheme restored, 15 increase in salaries, 5 in pensions

Punjab government has announced restoring the Chief Minister’s Laptop Scheme for students and a 15 per cent increase in salaries and 5 per cent in pensions in the proposed budget for fiscal 2022-23.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Punjab Finance Minister Awais Leghari presented the budget in the Aiwan-e-Iqbal session on Wednesday and announced a restoration of the scheme.
Awais Leghari announced the allocation of Rs1.5 billion in the head of the Laptop Scheme for the fiscal year 2022-23. He also said his government has given a historical support package of Rs200 billion on flour in Punjab.
The finance minister announced that his government has proposed a 15 per cent increase in salaries and a five per cent increase in pensions while the minimum wages of a labourer class have been fixed at Rs25,000 per month.
