David Beckham shares emotional Father's Day message amid rumours of rift with son
Sir David Beckham has shared a heartfelt message to his children in celebration of Father’s Day, including eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, despite ongoing speculation of a family rift.
The former England footballer, who recently turned 50, is riding high after receiving a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours. Now, he’s once again celebrating his family as the UK marks Father’s Day.
Sir David and his wife Victoria Beckham are parents to four children: Brooklyn, 26; Romeo, 22; Cruz, 20; and daughter Harper, 13.
Taking to Instagram, Sir David posted a touching tribute alongside 11 personal family photos — including individual pictures with each child, group snapshots from their younger years, a photo with his own father, and one of Victoria during pregnancy.
He wrote:
"My most important & favourite job in life is being a dad… I’m so proud of all of you and like daddy (sorry boys) tells you every single day — I will always be here for you no matter what.
Mummy, thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father. There is no greater gift in life than becoming a dad… Happy Father’s Day… I love you kiddies more than you could imagine."
The post quickly received loving responses from sons Cruz and Romeo. Cruz commented: "You mean the world to us and inspire us every single day dad. I love you." Romeo echoed with: "Love you always."
However, Brooklyn has remained silent, just as he did following the announcement of his father’s knighthood.
Victoria Beckham also took to Instagram, posting her own tribute:
"Happy Father’s Day to the best daddy there is! You always lead with love and our four beautiful children are a reflection of that. We all love you so, so much!!"
Her post, which featured a selection of family moments ranging from childhood memories to glamorous events, also tagged Brooklyn.
The messages come just days after Victoria publicly congratulated Sir David on his knighthood. In response, he commented: "I love you all," again tagging Brooklyn.
Rumours of tension between the Beckhams and Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, have circulated for some time, particularly after the young couple were notably absent from Sir David’s 50th birthday celebrations.
Although none of the parties have addressed the speculation publicly, Brooklyn recently posted a romantic message reaffirming his bond with Nicola:
"My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby."
Despite the silence on the alleged family rift, Sir David’s Father’s Day post appears to emphasize his continued love and support for all four of his children.
