Hira Khan calls out media portal for twisting her remarks on gender roles
Pakistani actress Hira Khan has criticized a media portal for allegedly misrepresenting her comments about traditional gender roles.
Responding to the report through her Instagram story, Hira expressed frustration over a complete distortion of her actual remarks about gender roles in marriage.
She clarified that her original comments were about not believing in traditional gender roles within marriage.
Hira also pointed out she did not rejected the idea of being a man and a woman.
According to Hira, she had simply explained that both she and her husband contribute equally to responsibilities inside and outside the home.
She stated that they both work professionally and also share household duties and this is the reason they do not strictly follow conventional gender-based expectations.
The actress questioned how her statement had been transformed into something entirely different.
She pointed out that the translated version being circulated made little sense and did not accurately reflect what she had said.
She questioned the claim that they supposedly did not marry each other as a man and a woman, asking what that statement was even supposed to mean.
She urged followers to be cautious when consuming content online and not to accept every headline at face value.
“Please don't believe everything these pages say. They are here for some clicks,” she stated.
The controversy began after a headline attributed a statement to Hira suggesting that she and her husband did not marry each other as a man and a woman.
