US dollar again smashes through Rs179 mark

The US dollar continued its upward trend and its value appreciated by 24 paisas against Pakistani rupee on Tuesday in the interbank trading, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During trading activity, the dollar kept on soaring high as it was traded for Rs179.22, up by 24 paisas from yesterday’s closing rate that was Rs178.98.
On the last working day of the previous week, the greenback was traded at Rs178.51.

According to forex experts, during last six trading sessions dollar has become costlier by Rs1.62.
Economic experts are of the view that the Pakistani rupees is under pressure due to rising import bills and foreign loans.
They said that the rupee was further pressured after the payment of foreign loan to the tune of $1.12 billion in one month’s time.
