CTD arrests hard core terrorist from Karachi

Counter-Terrorism Department (CCD) in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies (LEAs), arrested a hardened terrorist who is a member of a banned terrorist organization from Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Deputy Inspector General Counter Terrorism Department, Azfar Mehsar, said that the terrorist, who was identified as Amjad, is a member of the Fitna al Hindustan organization, and his name is also included in “Red Book”.

He also got training from a neighbouring country in 2022. The arrested terrorist was conducting recky of vehicles which were going to sensitive locations from Maripur.

DIG CTD further revealed that the arrested terrorist is an uncle of the accused Zafar alias Mama, who is involved in the attack on Jaffar Express.

The terrorist, along with his other accomplices, planned to carry out a targeted killing of a police officer posted in Maripur.

DIG Azfar Mehsar said that efforts are underway to arrest the other accomplices of the terrorist with the help of other agencies.
