The NAB launched another case against the Sharif family, accusing them of obtaining thousands of acres of land in Raiwind through forgery, 24NewsHD TV channel reported while quoting sources on Friday.
The sources said the NAB Lahore had sent the matter to the chairman for formal inquiry after completing the review of complaints on the subject.
Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Shamim Begum (former prime minister’s mother) and others have been nominated in the case.
According to the sources, the NAB has accused the Sharif family of using their influence and declaring thousands of acres as agriculture land in 2013. But it added that Ahad Cheema withdrew the notification issued by a 25-member board after assuming charge in 2014 and declared it as residential property.
Meanwhile, the NAB has also decided to include Cheema, the then DCO Noor-ul-Amin Mengal and others in the case for investigation.
Notices would be issued to the nominated persons to appear in person once the NAB chairman approved the case, the sources said.
