The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) issued new guidelines for passengers travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on visit visa, that passengers need to have booked a hotel in advance, have 2,000 dirhams with them and a return ticket, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The guidelines have been issued by the national carrier after new travel requirements were issued by UAE's immigration.

The TV channel reported that the PIA said in case of staying with someone other than the hotel the details of the residential address will be required in advance.

The PIA administration can also check the fulfillment of the conditions of the passengers before boarding or Pakistani immigration officials.

It is pertinent to note that Pakistanis were deported who arrived at Dubai airport on a visit visa and did not fulfill the new travel requirements according to the UAE's immigration laws, said the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai on Wednesday.

According to a statement by the consulate general, the Pakistanis stranded at the airport do not comply with the new travel requirements to the city. Among the 304 Pakistanis stranded at the airport, 200 arrived on visit visa from Lahore.
