Doctor left gauze in woman’s abdomen after surgery in Jhelum
Offers to return operation fee to angry husband

In a case of extreme criminal negligence, a surgeon left small pieces of gauze in the stomach of a woman patient after performing her pancreas surgery in Dina, Jhelum, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Asjad Hussain, the husband of the woman, told 24News TV channel when his wife felt pain in her stomach, he took her for the CT scan. In the scan, it was transpired that the surgeon left small pieces of gauze in her body.
He said due to the utter negligence of the surgeon doctor who left things in the body of his wife during surgery, his wife got infection in her abdomen. He said he visited the doctor’s clinic for almost 2-3 months. And the doctor kept on charging his fee on every visit despite the fact that he had already taken fee for his botched surgery.

He said the condition of his wife was not improving but the doctor said she would recover soon. The husband said after that he took his wife to a hospital in Mirpur and ran CT scan of her abdomen which showed small pieces of gauze in her body.
When 24NewsHD contacted surgeon Dr Shabbir Shah who performed the operation, he told the reporter that the patient had wound infection when she came. She had been suffering from this ailment for a few days. She visited his clinic for 8-10 days but he did not know where she went after that.
The surgeon said he was ready to refund the operation fee.
