According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the tournament will be played in the ODI format and will be followed by T20 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka scheduled to take place in 2022.
The ACC in a meeting decided that Asia Cup be played in Pakistan.
The decision was taken by the ACC on the meeting in Dubai chaired by its president Jay Shah.
It was in 2008, that Pakistan last hosted Asia Cup. According to the chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the decision to allot the tournament to Pakistan was unanimous.
In the tournament, Asian teams including India and Sri Lanka will participate.
The 15th edition will be hosted by Sri Lanka next year in T20 format before the 16th edition of the Asia Cup is held in Pakistan in 2023.
However, it remains a multi-dollar question that whether BCCI would send the Indian team to travel to Pakistan or not.
Earlier, Ramiz also met Saurav Ganguly and discussed strengthening the Asian block in international cricket.
Ganguly also invited Ramiz to attend the final of IPL.
