Pakistan reports 404 coronavirus cases, six deaths

The number of coronavirus cases officially reported in Pakistan since the pandemic outbreak reached 302,424 after another 404 people tested positive during the past 24 hours (Monday).
According to the figures updated by National Command and Operation Centre on Tuesday morning, there were six more deaths during the same period, raising the toll to 6,389.
As far as the province-wise distribution of the reported coronavirus cases is concerned, Sindh remains to be the most affected region with 132,250 infections.
It is followed by 97,817 in Punjab, 37,079 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,962 in Islamabad, 13,621 in Balochistan, 3,269 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 2,426 in Azad Kashmir.
Meanwhile, 455 coronavirus patients fully recovered from the infection on Monday which means the number of recoveries currently stands at 290,261.
Hence, the number of closed cases [deaths + recoveries] has now reached 296,650.
On the other hand, there are 5,774 active cases in the country with 563 of them in a critical condition and being treated in the intensive care units of different hospitals.
It shows that the number of critically ill coronavirus patients has increased by 12 during the past 24 hours.
Monday also saw another 27,277 people being tested for the virus which shows that the overall number of tests administered in the country has now jumped to 2,995,890.
It is important to note that the positivity rate [the percentage of people testing positive for the deadly virus] is recorded to less than 2 percent.
