Police get 6-day physical remand of gang-rape co-accused Shafqat

A district and sessions court in Lahore on Tuesday granted six-day physical remand of Shafqat Ali, co-accused in the Lahore Sialkot Motorway gang-rape incident, to police, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Additional Sessions Judge Misbah Khan granted physical remand of Shafqat Ali to the police for six days for further investigation.
The police incorporated Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) in the case and produced the suspect before the District and Sessions Court due to the absence of an ATC judge.
Heavy police presence was witnessed at District and Sessions Court Cantonment where Shafqat Ali was produced before the Judicial Magistrate Tuesday with his face covered with a piece of cloth.
Shafqat who has now confessed before the police shared startling revelations about the gang-rape. He said Abid Ali called Shafqat and Bala Mistri and asked them to come to Lahore to carry out a robbery.
Bala Mistri went back from halfway and later Shafqat and Abid Ali robbed and gang-raped the woman who was waiting for help after her car developed a fault on Lahore-Sialkot Motorway.
