The post-mortem report into the death of a woman who was mercilessly tortured by a cop on Millat Express revealed that the woman’s demise was caused by her falling off the train, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The 24News TV channel obtained a copy of the post-mortem report on Tuesday, according to which the injuries on woman’s bodies were due to her falling off the train and the death was occurred mainly due to excessive bleeding after she hit her head on the ground.

The post-mortem report and other evidence have been provided to the investigative team which is probing the incident from all angles including suicide.

A three-member committee, led by DIG Railways Police, had been formed yesterday to probe the death of the woman after her body was found in Bahawalpur. The committee will submit its report to Railways Chairman within three days.

Maryam Bibi was travelling to Faisalabad from Karachi before Eid when as witnesses said she started to throw away goods of other passengers. They called in a police constable and protested her behaviour which led to the cop torturing the woman severely in front of everyone.

Police on Monday said that body of the woman, who was subjected to torture by policeman Mir Hasan on a moving train, was found near Chani Goth Railway Station in Bahawalpur.

Fellow passengers said she herself jumped out of the train and died. The incident happed about a week ago.

The policeman was arrested last week after the video went viral in which he could be seen holding the woman by her hair and hitting her multiple times while other passengers watched silently.

However, a local court in Hyderabad approved the cop's bail on the same day against a surety bond of Rs35,000.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Railways Abdullah Sheikh had said that the incident took place on April 7 on Karachi to Lala Musa-bound Millat Express. However, just a day after the cop was released on bail, the woman's body was found in Bahawalpur.

According to the police, the railway police officer took the woman, who belonged to Jaranwala's Chak 40 Morr, Faisalabad, with him after violently beating her on April 7.

The victim's brother, Afzal, said that his sister used to work at a beauty parlour in Karachi and she was coming to Jaranwala to celebrate Eidul Fitr. Afzal also demanded that the death of his sister should be investigated.
