Malala urges Pakistan to support girls’ education in Afghanistan

Nobel Peace laureate Malala Yousafzai has telephoned Federal Minister for Information Chaudhry Fawad Hussain and discussed global concerns over women's rights in Afghanistan after Taliban emerged as new leaders of Afghanistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
Nobel Peace Prize winner stressed that Pakistan should play its role in women's education in Afghanistan.
Malala also wrote a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan urging Pakistan to play its role.
Fawad Chaudhry assured Malala that Pakistan will continue its support for education in Afghanistan.
“There are 6,000 Afghan students in Pakistan,” he informed Malala.

On Sunday, Malala tweeted, “We watch in complete shock as Taliban takes control of Afghanistan. I am deeply worried about women, minorities and human rights advocates.”
She urged global, regional and local powers for an immediate ceasefire and to provide urgent humanitarian aid and protect refugees and civilians.
