A security guard was martyred while another was seriously wounded after robbers opened fire at them when they resisted their bid to rob a cash van outside the National Bank’s branch in Narowal on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Neither police nor Rescue 1122 personnel reached the crime scene due to which both the guards were taken to the district headquarters hospital in a motorcycle-rickshaw in a critical condition where one of them later succumbed to his injuries. 

Dacoits, on the other hand, managed to escape while firing into the air.
