FIR registered under anti-terrorism act for killing a journalist in Sukkar
The Sukkur Police on Tuesday registered an FIR against six identified persons and three unknown people for allegedly murdering a journalist Jan Mohammad Mehr, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to police sources, a case was registered on the complaint of the deceased's brother at the C-Section Sukkur police station. The case was registered under the anti-terrorism act.
Sherel Mehr, Munawar Mehr, Bakhsh Ali alias Bakhshu, Babar, Mohsin, Jamaluddin, and Sohail Mehr are named in the case for facilitating the murder.
It is pertinent that a senior journalist, former president of Sukkur Press Club, and KTN Bureau Chief Jan Muhammad Mehr was killed on Monday when unidentified persons opened fire at him.
Mehr left the office for his home. When he reached Qasim Park, unidentified assailants opened fire at him, injuring him seriously.
He was rushed to a hospital nearby in a critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries.
