JI offers govt full support for rehabilitation of flood victims

Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman telephoned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday and expressed deep grief and shock over the loss of lives and properties in KP, Kashmir and the country’s northern areas due to floods, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The JI Emir, on the occasion, assured the government of his party’s complete support for the rehabilitation of those affected by floods. “The Al-Khidmat Foundation will assist the government in rescue and relief operations,” he said, and added, “The JI stands with the government in this hour of grief.”

Naeem urged the government to assist the affected people irrespective of their party affiliations. 

He told the premier that the JI had already started rescue and relief work in the affected areas.  

Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister said that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had dispatched over 500 tonnes of relief goods to the flood-hit areas.

He appreciated the JI for the assistance it was offering.
