Man arrested in Lahore for posing as PERA officer

The Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) on Saturday arrested a man who allegedly posed as a government officer and extorted thousands of rupees from traders, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to PERA officials, accused Amin would blackmail traders using encroachments and pricing issues.

A case has been registered against Amin for impersonating as a PERA investigation officer. The raiding team also recovered fake cards, letters and stamps Amin’s custody.

PERA City In-charge PERA Mohsin Dhillon said the accused has been involved in several cases of fraud in the past.  He said that people should immediately report any blackmail by any officer or official of PERA.
