A tough contest is expected between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates as polling was underway in by-election for PP-206 in Khanewal on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

There are total 183 polling stations in the constituency, out of which 62 are for males, 60 for females while 61 are for both males and females. There are total 512 polling booths in PP-206.

Total number of voters in the constituency are 230,689 while 13 candidates are in the run for the Punjab Assembly seat.  

People belonging to Daha, Khaga, Arain, Kamboh, Sheikh and Rajputs clans are in majority in the area.
