Current account deficit goes down: SBP

The government measures have brought down the current account deficit significantly, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday. 

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the current account deficit decreased significantly by 86% in November 2022 as compared to November 2011,

The current account deficit decreased by 51 % in November as compared to the previous month, the SBP said, adding that in November 2022, the current account deficit stood at $27.6 million while the deficit in November 2021 was more than $1 billion

In October 2022, the current account deficit was $569 million and In the current financial year, the current account deficit decreased by 57% while as compared to November 2021, the trade deficit decreased by 44% to $2.025 billion in November 2022.

Compared to November 2021, the exports decreased by 18% to $2.23 billion in November 2022, the bank maintained, adding that compared to November 2021, imports decreased by 33% to $4.26 billion in November 2022.
