Fog again shuts several sections of motorway in Punjab

Several sections of the motorway remained closed due to dense fog that has engulfed various parts of Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The motorway sections that remained shut included: M2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, M4 from Abdul Hakim to Pindi Bhattian, M3 from Faizpur to Rijana, and M11 from Lahore to Sialkot.

Dry weather forecast for plain areas

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country, while it will remain cloudy in upper areas during the next 12 hours.

However, rain with snowfall over high mountains is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

Light rain and drizzle is also expected in Potohar region and northeastern Punjab during the period.

Fog and smog are likely to occur in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh during morning and night hours.

Dense Fog is likely to persist over few plain areas of Punjab.

Temperature of major cities: Islamabad 6C, Lahore 9C, Karachi 16C, Peshawar and Quetta 4C, Gilgit 2C, Murree 3C and Muzaffarabad 5C.
