Dananeer Mobeen eager to bring Afsana Baloch’s journey to big screen in Mera Lyari
Dananeer Mobeen is gearing up for her film debut and couldn’t contain her excitement as she shared behind-the-scenes glimpses from her upcoming project Mera Lyari.
Taking to Instagram, she posted a carousel of BTS moments with the caption: "Mera Lyari. I can’t wait for you guys to witness Afsana Baloch’s journey. This one is VERY close to my heart. Coming to your cinema screens very soon. It’s also my film debut so kinda freaking out about that."

The visuals provide the first public look at the film, featuring Ayesha Omar alongside Dananeer Mobeen, followed by individual character covers of Samiya Mumtaz, Nayyer Ejaz, Adnan Shah Tipu, and Sania Sohail Khan.
The posters carry a restrained, serious tone, reflecting a story rooted in realism rather than spectacle. Ayesha shared her excitement, writing, “Alhamdolilah. My first baby coming after an intense labour of love, hard work and commitment. Releasing soon.”
Mera Lyari arrives at a politically and culturally charged moment, positioned as a counter-narrative to India’s controversial spy thriller Dhurandhar, which faced criticism in Pakistan for portraying Lyari as a violent war zone.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasised that the film aims to showcase Lyari’s “peace, prosperity, and pride,” countering the negative stereotypes propagated by foreign films.
Written and directed by Abu Aleeha, known for Taxali Gate, and executive produced by Ayesha Omar under Hawksbay Productions, the film also stars Trinette Lucas, Paras Masroor, Shoaib Khan, and others.
