Gas leak explosion in Quetta injures seven, damages shops

A gas leak in Quetta’s Nawan Kali area triggered an explosion that left seven people injured, including five children, and caused damage to three shops, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

The Nawan Kali Traders Association reported that the blast was caused by a gas leak originating from a pipeline affected by ongoing development work. 

Residents had reportedly complained about the leak several hours before the explosion, but no timely action was taken to prevent the accident.

The traders' association urged authorities to provide compensation to shopkeepers for their losses and financial assistance to those injured in the blast. 

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Officials are investigating the incident and assessing the extent of property damage.
