Goods transporters’ wheel-jam strike continues in Punjab
PTA decides to monitor vehicles involved in violation of traffic laws
The ongoing wheel-jam strike of goods transporters against the vehicle ordinance entered its ninth day in Multan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Trucks and Mazda addas are wearing a deserted look due to wheel-jam strike. The transporters said that the strike will continue till the withdrawal of the vehicle ordinance.
PTA starts checking of real-time monitoring
Punjab Transport Authority (PTA) and Safe Cities Authority (SCA) inked an accord for monitoring of route permit, fitness certificate, and overloading.
Some barricades will be established opposite the Safe Cities Authority. Records of all vehicles will be checked who violate traffic laws.
On the other hand, the Punjab Transport Authority (PTA) decided to check real-time monitoring. In the first phase, the checking of public and goods transporters will be recorded through cameras. RTA staff will not be allowed to check any other vehicles with Safe City cameras.
Strict action will be taken against officials who are found to be involved in violation of the new policy.
