Housemaid steals dollars, dirhams and gold from Karachi Home
A domestic worker allegedly made off with cash, valuables, and important documents from a house in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the affected family, the maid had been hired only two days earlier. They said she arrived alone on the first day and returned the following day, accompanied by another woman.
During her second visit, the domestic worker allegedly broke open cupboard lockers and fled with gold jewellery, foreign currency, including dollars and dirhams, and other valuable items.
The family further reported that important documents, including passports and national identity cards, were also stolen from the lockers. They said the locks appeared to have been broken with considerable skill, suggesting prior experience.
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the North Nazimabad police station in District Central. Police officials confirmed that an FIR has been registered and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the absconding suspects.
Law enforcement authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution when hiring domestic help and to ensure proper verification before allowing access to their homes.
