Pakistan marks 11th anniversary of APS Peshawar tragedy, reaffirms resolve against terrorism

Pakistan Tuesday observed the 11th anniversary of the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar tragedy, paying tribute to the innocent children and teachers who were martyred in the terrorist attack, the Foreign Office spokesperson said.

In a statement, the spokesperson said the sacrifice of the APS martyrs stands as a powerful symbol of the nation’s unwavering resolve against terrorism.

The spokesperson noted that Pakistan continues to take decisive and effective steps at all levels to eliminate the menace of terrorism.

The Foreign Office said that despite terrorist elements operating from across the border, Pakistan has successfully prevented the spread of terrorism within the country. The sacrifices of the APS martyrs, the statement added, not only saved the lives of Pakistanis but also contributed to the security of the wider region and the world.

Reiterating Pakistan’s stance, the spokesperson said the country remains committed to eliminating terrorist safe havens and ending all forms of support to terrorist elements. The statement emphasised that Pakistan’s commitment to the security of its people and the sovereignty of the country remains firm.

The Foreign Office reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to remain united against all forms of terrorism and to continue efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability.
