Railway track blown up in Shikarpur before Sukkur Express arrival

A bomb blast occurred on a railway track near Humayun Sharif in Shikarpur on Tuesday, sources said, in what appeared to be an attempt to target the Sukkur Express train.

According to sources, the attack failed and the Sukkur Express remained safe. Miraculously, no damage was reported to the train and all passengers onboard remained unharmed.

The explosion caused panic in nearby areas, with residents rushing out of their homes after hearing the blast. Upon receiving information, rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, while a heavy police contingent was called in to secure the area.

Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the site and launched an investigation to determine the nature of the explosive device and those responsible for the attempted attack. Further details are awaited.
