Fire at Murree bazar devastates historic building

A fire broke out at Murree lower bazar late night, destroying a historic building as well as two adjacent shops.
Since most of the building was constructed from wood, the impact of fire could have been even higher but Rescue 1122 firefighters doused it earlier than expected through relentless efforts.
The fire broke out at the historic building, near Sadiq Chowk, in the late hours of the night and spread in no time. The woodwork at the old building helped the fire spear wildly and engulf the nearby shops.
Moreover, the narrow streets around it served as a barrier to the damage control activities. The firefighters however managed to overcome it within few hours.
