FIA DG Wajid Zia catches coronavirus

Director-General of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wajid Zia has contracted coronavirus, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to the TV channel, the director general’s Covid-19 test came back positive yesterday, after which he went into self-quarantine.
The staff at the FIA have also been undergoing tests after the development.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus spread in Pakistan is appeared to be slowing down as the country after several months reported single-day infections below 1,000.
At least 47 people lost their lives due to the novel coronavirus pandemic whereas 958 fresh cases were reported during the last 24 hours (Monday), showed the statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday morning.
As per the latest NCOC data, the death toll has soared to 12,333 while the number of total confirmed infections stood at 564,077.
During the past 24 hours (Monday), 910 patients have recovered from the virus while the total recoveries stood at 525,997. The total count of active cases was 25,383 and the national positivity rate stood at nearly four percent.
