Polling underway for three by-elections in Sindh, Balochistan

The polling for three by-elections including two provincial constituencies in Sindh and one in Balochistan was underway amid strict security measures on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
There were also reports of clashes between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan People’s Party workers amid the polling for by-elections in Sindh.
The PS-88 Malir Karachi was vacated due to the death of PPP provincial minister Ghulam Murtaza Baloch. There are more than 145,000 registered voters in this constituency.
A total of 108 polling stations have been set up for by-polls in the constituency, of which 36 have been declared sensitive and 33 highly sensitive.
Police and Rangers have been deployed to maintain law and order.
On the other hand, the polling process for PB-20 seat of Pishin district in Balochistan also started at 8 am. The seat was vacated due to the death of JUI-F MPA Fazal Agha.
Around 113 polling stations have been set up out of which 90 have been declared sensitive and three highly sensitive. Police and FC personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order.
Besides, the polling process for Sindh Assembly seat PS-43 Sanghar is also underway which will continue uninterrupted till 5 pm.
