Karachi Police chief AIG Ghulam Nabi Memon has claimed that around more crimes were being committed annually in Lahore than in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The megacity top cop said 0.2 million crimes are being committed in Lahore every year.

Ghulam Nabi Memon directed his officers to lodge cases on citizens’ requests who have been facing a lot of difficulties. He warned of action against police officers who violate his orders.

AIG Karachi also vowed to take action against SHOs stationed in Karachi who have not been performing up to the mark.

The Karachi top cop urged citizens to cooperate with police to identify the anti-social elements.

“The organized gangs were eliminated from Defence and Clifton areas but they have surfaced again,” Memon said.

He said large scale actions will be announced in a few days against underperforming SHOs.
