CM Mohsin Naqvi inaugurates spring 2023 plantation drive

Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi Thursday inaugurated the spring plantation drive of 2023 by planting sapling of bottle palm tree in the Chief Minister’s office, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He also prayed for the success of the plantation drive.

The Information and Culture secretary and the Forest Department officials were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Naqvi said that 30 million saplings would be planted throughout Punjab during the spring plantation drive.

He said that planting trees was a national duty and social responsibility, adding: “We ought to take part in urban planting campaigns and take care of trees.”

He emphasised that only planting was not enough, adding that the trees needed to be protected too.

The Forest Department secretary briefed the chief minister regarding the plantation drive.

He told the CM in his briefing that the Forest Department had established 489 nurseries across the province to supply saplings and cuttings to the people.
