Army wins National Boxing Championship

The National Boxing Championship concluded at KPT Sports Complex, Karachi, with Pakistan Army securing first position, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Sunday.

The event, organised by the Pakistan Army and the Pakistan Boxing Federation, saw participation from over 300 male and female boxers and officials.

Corps Commander Karachi, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Awais Dastgir, attended the final matches as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners. He lauded the championship as a great opportunity for Pakistani boxers to showcase and refine their talent.

The 41st National Elite Men’s and 5th National Elite Women’s Boxing Championships ran from February 10 to 15. Competitions were held across various weight categories, culminating in intense final matches.

A total of 14 teams participated, including Pakistan Army, Navy, PAF, WAPDA, Railways, KPT, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, AJK, HEC, and Pakistan Police.

In the men’s category, Pakistan Army claimed first place, followed by Pakistan Navy as runners-up and WAPDA securing third position.

In the women’s category, Pakistan Army also secured first place, while Punjab and WAPDA took second and third positions, respectively.
