Imran Khan has regained 95 percent of his eyesight, says Achakzai
A meeting of the parliamentary party of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) witnessed internal disagreements, as members reportedly quarrelled with one another over party decisions and their implementation.
According to participants, decisions are made within the party but are often not implemented afterwards, reflecting a lack of consensus among members. Senator Mirza Muhammad Afridi stressed the need for unity within the ranks, stating that abusing the establishment is not part of the party’s narrative. He demanded abolition of the party’s core committee, alleging that YouTubers were benefiting by publicizing details of its meetings.
Afridi thanked Mahmood Khan Achakzai for serving as opposition leader, remarking that circumstances might have been different had someone else held the position.
During the meeting, Achakzai confirmed his interaction with doctors treating PTI founder Imran Khan, who has been jailed since August 5, 2023. He said the doctors informed him that Khan had earlier been unable to see the timepiece on a wall, but following examination, he was able to see the hands of the clock again. Achakzai added that Imran Khan’s eye has recovered by 95 percent, which he described as good news. Members of the assembly reportedly expressed satisfaction over the update.
Sources said members also directed criticism towards social media activists and YouTubers, accusing them at times of influencing parliamentary affairs. Some participants reportedly blamed Bushra Bibi for losses suffered on November 26, while others claimed that matters worsened recently due to Aleema Khan.
Party members also expressed opposition to family politics, with some suggesting that directives from family members should not be followed. It was further proposed that any plan of action presented by Mahmood Khan Achakzai should be implemented by the party.
