Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday again claimed that the next five years also belonged to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), with Imran Khan as the country’s prime minister, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to media in Lahore, he also claimed that PTI was the only party which had vote bank in every nook and corner of the country. “The opposition will see how we win the next elections. Let the time come,” he said.
The minister further said that the Sehat Cards programme, launched by the government, had a distinct nature since poor people would also be able to avail the same health facilities by virtue of these cards, which were normally available to the rich.
Fawad appealed to the Sindh government to show mercy on the people and also contribute to the programme’s introduction in the province.
Later, addressing a book launching ceremony, Fawad said that English literature held an important place in the country in the past. “But sadly not now,” he regretted.
The information minister also stressed the need for the promotion of music, poetry and drama in the society.
He was of the view that all these genres of entertainment, which could have been used to project a better image of Pakistan, had been deliberately neglected in the past. “The government is going to convert PTV English into PTV Infotainment,” he informed.
Fawad assured the students interested in pursuing their careers in music and drama of the government’s support.
