Snowfall, landsliding alert for Azad Kashmir issued

The Meteorological Office has issued a snowfall alert for Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir from January 18-21, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the weather report, there is a possibility that Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir would receive snow and rain starting from Jan 18 and it will continue till Jan 21. The district administration has alerted the emergency response departments in case the valley receives snowfall.
The highway department staff, machinery, tourist police and 1122 officials have been appointed at different places.
Neelum deputy commissioner Muhammad Shaukat Khan warned tourists and local people of possible land sliding along Shahrae Neelum. He cautioned them not to travel in night and in case of any emergency, the tourists must contact at numbers of the control room.
Besides Neelum Valley, the Met Office also issued a snowfall alert for Haveli Kahuta. The district will receive rain and snow, and land sliding may also occur.
Heveli Kahuta deputy commissioner Ashfaq Gilani alerted 1122 in case of any emergency situation. He also directed the highway department to keep open the main thoroughfares during snow.
He warned people who do hiking to abstain from visiting tourist places.
The district management authority has said fire incidents quite often happen in Kahuta, so it has asked people to extinguish fire before they sleep.
