In a major move for Pakistani exporters, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has signed a cargo special pro-rate agreement with Indonesia's national airline Garuda, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the MoU, the Pakistani exporters will now be able to transport products to Jakarta and other international cities via Jeddah and Kuala Lumpur.

The agreement, which will come into effect from January 2026, will remain in force until July 2027.

Pakistani exporters’ cargo will be transported to Jakarta and other international cities via Jeddah and Kuala Lumpur.

The agreement will also provide cargo facilities to Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok.

Pakistani products will have easier access to the markets of Shanghai, Guangzhou, Seoul and Australia.

Exporters and freight forwarders will be ensured of competitive rates and preferential cargo delivery.

The aim of the agreement is to increase Pakistan’s exports and facilitate and expand the air cargo business.
