Three children die of measle outbreak in Khairpur

At least three children have died in a deadly measles outbreak in the village of Imam Din Buzdar in Khairpur district of Sindh, while five others have been hospitalized, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Friday.

The victims were identified as 6-year Muhammad Hussan, 3-year Ali Baksh and 5-year Nabi Baksh, whose deaths have sent shockwaves in the area.

The condition of the five other undertreatment children was critical.

Residents of the area have appealed to health authorities to take immediate notice of the situation and establish emergency vaccination camps to prevent further loss of life. They urged officials to launch a door-to-door immunisation drive in the village to protect vulnerable children.

Health experts have warned that Pakistan is facing a serious measles crisis, with the country recording the second-highest number of cases globally after Yemen this year.
