The cabinet has given approval to the appointment of a new managing director of the Utility Stores Corporation following the refusal of employment contract extension by its MD Umar Lodhi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources told 24NewsHD on Friday that the cabinet okayed the name of Talha Aziz as new managing director of the Utility Stores Corporation (USC).

Sources informed that MD Lodhi’s two-year job contract was expired in May 2021. But the Industries and Production Ministry offered Mr Ladhi employment contract for another term and the cabinet approved it last month. But Mr Lodhi refused to extend his contract.

Sources said that Mr Lodhi was offered a lucrative package from the private sector owing to which he declined to accept the contract extension offer. Now Mr Aziz will be offered the same contract.

According to the sources, the summary which the Industries and Production Ministry forwarded to the cabinet contained names of three candidates. On top was the name of Mr Lodhi and on second number, Mr Aziz’s name was enlisted. The cabinet had approved the name of Mr Lodhi as USC MD and stated in case of refusal by Mr Lodhi, the candidate on second number should be offered the post.
