Petroleum dealers announce countrywide strike on Monday

The Petroleum Dealers Association of Pakistan has announced a nationwide strike on Monday (July 18), demanding a rise in dealers’ margin at six percent, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Petroleum dealers in a meeting deliberated on the strike and negotiations with the government and took the decision to go for a strike. 

The association said in the wake of the closure of petrol pumps masses will be suffered. 

The strike decision comes after the federal government has slashed POL prices by up to Rs40.54 per litre a downward trend in the global oil market.

Petrol is now available at Rs230.24 per litre, diesel at Rs236 per litre, kerosene oil at Rs196.45 and light diesel oil (LDO) at Rs 191.44/litre.
