Parvez Elahi to stay in jail for another day
Former Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi will be released on Monday, IG Prions said late Saturday.
The IGP said the release order could not be received within the official time.

Earlier in the day, the banking court accepted the surety bonds and issued his release order in the money-laundering case. His lawyer expressed a strong reaction to the delay.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) ad yesterday (Friday) barred the authorities from arresting Parvez in ‘unknown cases’. the LHC announced the reserved judgment on the petition filed by the former Punjab chief minister.
Pronouncing the verdict, LHC judge Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq barred the authorities from arresting Elahi in ‘unknown cases’, including in relation to inquiries of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Three days early on July 11, a banking court granted bail to Pervaiz Elahi in the case of a suspicious transaction.
The banking court approved the PTI president’s bail in the case lodged by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The PTI president had been directed to submit surety bonds worth Rs500,000.
