Two dacoits were killed reportedly in an encounter with the police near Chakar Hotel at Karachi’s Super Highway, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Police said the encounter took place when dacoits were fleeing after robbing a citizen of valuables.

The Force said they had recovered weapons, stolen cellphones and motorcycles from them.

Two wounded in police encounter at Khairpur

In Khairpur, a policeman and a ‘dacoit’ were injured reportedly in an encounter.

SSP Zubair Nazeer Sheikh said that when the police learnt that dacoits were busy looting a citizen, they rushed to the spot to rescue him. “On seeing the police personnel, the dacoits opened fire at them,” he said, adding, “The police retaliated, resulting in an injury to one of them. The dacoits, however, managed to take their injured accomplice with them.”

Police said that Zubair Pirzado, the injured cop, had been shifted from Khairpur to Sukkur for treatment.
