Dacoit killed in Multan CCD encounter

One dacoit was gunned down, and two of his companions fled from the scene during a police encounter in Multan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Shah Shams Tabrez Police Station in Multan.
According to the details, three unidentified assailants who were riding a motorcycle started firing on the Crime Control Department (CCD) team from Bhandari Pul.
In retaliation, the Crime Control Department team also opened fire on the dacoits. During a heavy exchange of fire, one dacoit breathed his last.
The dacoit was involved in some serious criminal cases, including murder, dacoity, and snatching by force. 
The dead dacoit was identified as Mehboobur Rehman, who was a resident of the district of Charsadda. His two other companions escaped from the scene, taking advantage of the darkness.
A spokesman of CCD said the security and safety of the general public is our top priority.
