Karachi infant recovered from Bahawalpur
A one-and-a-half-year-old child, who had been kidnapped from Qayyumabad area of Karachi a few days ago, was safely recovered from Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Police arrested two people, including a woman named Saima, in connection with the crime.
Giving details, police officials said that Abdullah was kidnapped from outside his home.
A case was registered on the complaint of his mother at Defence Police Station, they said, adding that the police conducted an investigation from various angles.
The officials said that Muhammad Iqbal, the night watchman of the street, the kid lived, was also questioned and he provided some important information.
And it was on the basis of the information provided by the night watchman that the police were able to get to the woman, who had kidnapped the infant, they elaborated.
The officials informed that during interrogation, the woman confessed to have kept the child at her home in Bahawalpur.
It had also been revealed that personal enmity was behind the kidnapping of the child, they said, adding Saima was in judicial custody while Iqbal was in police custody.
The child had been reunited with his family, the officials informed.
