Islamabad Police arrests 111 suspects in crackdown on illegal weapons
Islamabad police have arrested 111 suspects during an ongoing crackdown against illegal weapons in the last 10 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to the police, 11 Kalashnikovs and rifles, 93 pistols of various calibers, and six daggers were recovered from the arrested suspects.
An alleged illegal arms dealer, Shah Sahib Jan, was also arrested during the operation.
Three automatic machine guns, one Kalashnikov, two .30-bore pistols, and one revolver were recovered from the accused.
SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza said Islamabad Police maintains a zero-tolerance policy against illegal weapons and the public display of arms.
He further said that targeted operations against individuals involved in the illegal possession of weapons will continue.
