Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the provincial government has provided a tax relief of Rs56 billion in the budget despite the unusual situation.
In a statement issued in Lahore on Tuesday, Buzdar said this step will help in promotion of business activities. He said that economic activities will generate employment and more taxes will be collected. The opposition adopted undemocratic and unparliamentary steps by adopting a rowdy behaviour during the budget speech. The established parliamentary norms were violated due to their non-serious attitude, he added.
Usman Buzdar regretted that opposition has no interest in public welfare and it is engaged in politics of non-issues. He said the budget is based on realistic development targets and is not a jugglery of words like the past governments did. He stated that realistic data has been used and public welfare is fully focused. More balanced and relief-oriented budget cannot be presented in the prevailing circumstances, the CM concluded.
