Sindh Assembly budget session goes online

For the first time in the history of the country, the Sindh Assembly will have an online budget session for its FY2020-21 financial budget, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Tuesday.
The new session of the Sindh Assembly already commenced on June 15 while no date has been finalised yet for presenting the provincial government’s new budget.
The Sindh Assembly on Monday unanimously amended its own rules of procedure to become the first elected assembly of the country to hold a virtual session that allows its elderly members and those suffering from the coronavirus to participate in the proceedings of the house from their homes.
24NewsHD TV Channel reported that in FY 2020-21 budget Sindh government will allocate budget for the recruitment for necessary posts in the health department with 45 new projects to be started for the health department subject to the approval of the cabinet.
In the budget proposals, five Disease Infection Control Hospitals will be set up in Sindh.
Rs10 billion has been allocated for five Disease Infection Hospitals while each hospital will have 200 beds. For the upgrading of bio-safety laboratories in seven hospitals of Sindh with an allocation of Rs500 million have been budgeted.
Rs200 million allocated for Corona Pandemic Poverty Eradication project while Social Security Program will start giving loans to housewives and youth on easy terms.
The plan to start online education is also included in the budget.
The Sindh government has also allocated a budget for the establishment of two hospitals in Mithi and Islamkot.
