Chaos continues in NA on third consecutive day

The National Assembly witnessed ruckus and chaos on the third consecutive day, reported 24New HD TV channel on Wednesday.

The rumpus started in the House, barring the proceedings as soon as Shehbaz Sharif took the floor and started lashing out at the government for its economic policies.

Yesterday, the opposition and the government parliamentarians threw books on each other while bringing the fight to the next level, the opposition lawmakers threw sanitiser bottles on the government benches during the Wednesday session, injuring MNA Akram Cheema of the government.

The government parliamentarians chanted slogans. MNA Atta Ullah chanted, “Sit down dacoit, we do not want to listen. Go and bring the looted money back from home.”

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser gave the ruling the proceeding could not be carried on until a decision was made that to run the House. He also constituted a four-member committee of the government MNA to meet the opposition.

However, the opposition excused giving the names for the committee immediately. He said he had taken action against the members who created chaos in the House on June 14 and 15.

The speaker suspended the proceedings of the House till tomorrow after the chaos started during the opposition leader’s speech.

Talking to 24News HD, Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif said the speaker called the session of then left it. He said he did not know how long it would go on, adding that only the speaker could answer about it.

The speaker also banned the entry of seven members into the precincts of Parliament House who displayed grossly disruptive conduct during the speech of Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif on the budget yesterday.

According to the notification, entry of MNAs Ali Gohar Khan (PML-N), Ch Hamid Hameed (PML-N), Sheikh Rohail Asghar (PML-N), Faheem Khan (PTI), Abdul Majeed Khan (PTI), Ali Nawaz Awan (PTI), and Syed Agha Rafiullah (PPP) has been banned.

Meanwhile, the Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met in Islamabad and discussed the situation.

Talking to the media after the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif termed the incident as a dark day in the history of Parliament. He said that he was grateful to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for his presence here to show solidarity. Shehbaz Sharif said that the ridiculous attitude of government members in the National Assembly has caused absurdity.
